Terrible start and the new picks for midweek

Hi guys,
Unfortunately, the restart of the blog was pretty bad with all three bets losing. The Arsenal pick was quite accurate, but two late goals from the Gunners meant the bet is lost, while the other two were rather misjudged on my side. I really though Fulham will put an effort in order to save Martin Jol, but that was not the case and in spite of some good chances, there were no goals in the Villa game.
However, I am here for the long run profit, so 3 lost bets won't bring me down :) There is a good chance of making up this week with a bunch of matches, so here we go:

Event: Arsenal - Hull City
Pick: Arsenal -1.5 AH
Odds: 1.83 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: I rarely put 10/10, but I am quite shocked by the odds in this one. Arsenal are flying at the moment with both their defense and offense working very well. There are a number of players that can score and the defense managed 5 clean sheets in the last 6 games. On the other hand, despite a decent start of the season and recent win against Liverpool, Hull does not seem like a team that can stop the Gunners. The odds seem great, so this is my main bet for the day.

Event: West Brom - Man City
Pick: West Brom + 1 AH
Odds: 2.01 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 8/10
Analysis: Once again, after a good victory at home bookies seem to think Man City will start winning away too. Well, I thought the same way after the huge win against ManU and a bunch of other great games at home, but the fact is City are not doing well away from Etihad. In fact, they lost a number of points away against weaker teams than West Brom. This is the reason why I believe the home side could take something from the game today and the odds for this line seem insane to me. The only reason why I am not putting 10 units here too is that I hate to make two max stake bets at the same time.

I really like some of the other games too, but I prefer to wait for the teams and add some live bets, since there might be some rotation today.

Best of luck :)

Two early Premier League picks

Hi guys,

As I told you last week, I had some problem with my tooth and at the it turned I needed a minor operation to fix it, so I was away for some time. However, I am back and I can see two good early picks for this weekend:

Pick 83
Event: West Brom - Norwich
Pick: Under 2.5 goals
Odds: 2.05 @ 188bet
Stake: 8/10
Analysis: Well, West Brom are very solid at home, especially defensively and they manage to keep clean sheets quite often. On the other hand, Norwich are in a very good shape recently and one of the main reasons for that is their discipline and hard work. That makes me think it will be a close game and possibly there won't be too many goals in it.

Pick 84
Event: Chelsea - Aston Villa
Pick: Villa +1.5 AH
Odds: 2.00 @ 188bet
Stake: 7/10
Analysis: Villa are flying right now - they won against Norwich for Capital One, they destroyed Liverpool at Anfield this weekend and in general, the work of Paul Lambert is starting to pay off. On the other hand, Chelsea with Benitez is not too convincing and there will be possibly some tired legs after the World Cup they played recently. That makes me think Villa could take something from this game or at least lose with just a single goal, which suits us with this line.

Good luck everyone :)

More Premier League picks

Hi guys,
The odds for my yesterday's pick on Sunderland was going up and down a little bit and currently is at 2.34 at Pinnacle, so you could even get bigger price than me, if you haven't bet yet. Today I have few more suggestions for the forthcoming games:

Pick 69 (good number :))
Event: Swansea - West Brom
Pick: West Brom +0.5 AH
Odds: 1.74 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: Well, there is not much to say about this game - West Brom are flying right now, they are solid at the back, they are very good in attack, they are disciplined, but also play with a lot of passion. In addition to that the manager actually substituted some of his players at the end of the game against Sunderland in order to keep them fresh. On the other hand, Swansea are in a terrible shape and seem unable to get more than a draw against solid teams, even at home. West Brom had some problems away at the start of the season, but now have two wins in a row, so I think the value is on them.

Pick 70
Event: Southampton - Norwich
Pick: Draw
Odds: 3.69 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 4/10
Analysis: This is a clash between two teams that started the season on a low, but are now in a great shape. The Saints now have two wins in their last games, while Norwich are unbeaten for quite some time. I think the disciplined team of the visitors will manage to take something from this game, but I don't expect them to manage to win. On the other hand, Southampton is playing well, so the draw here is a pretty logical choice at such high odds. Low to mid stakes though, since betting on a draw is always a risky choice.

Pick 71
Event: Chelsea - Fulham
Pick: Over 3 goals
Odds: 2.04 @ 188bet
Stake: 6/10
Analysis: Both teams are very generous in terms of conceding and scoring goals despite the fact their games this weekend finished 0:0 and 1:0. This was due to the tough opponents and the terrible weather. Although it is expected to rain again, I really think those two have the potential to have a goal fest on Tuesday. Biggest concern is the possible Benitez effect, but it is still too early about that.

This is it, the previews are shorter today, but I really didn't have the time to be more detailed, good luck everyone :)

More Premier league football picks for Saturday

Hi guys,

Yesterday I had one bet only, but it was a successful one - Middlesbrough maintained their good run by beating Sheffield Wednesday at home. As you probably know, if you are a regular reader of this blog, I already have two bets for today's Premier League games: under 3 goals for Arsenal - Fulham and Everton -1.5 AH goals against Sunderland at home. I was considering few more bets yesterday, but I left my final decision for today. Here we go:

Pick 47
Event: Stoke City - QPR
Pick: Stoke -0.5AH
Odds: 2.05 @ 188bet
Stake: 6/10
Analysis: Both team are not performing very well since the start of the season, but Stoke look much more solid at least in defense. Their story is similar every year - they have some tough periods, but manage to take a good number of points at home against weaker teams. They still have just one win since the start of the league and I believe this is a good opportunity to take some fresh air here against QPR, who have just 4 points up to this point.

Pullis will want a home win against a weak QPR side today.

Pick 48
Event: Wigan - West Brom
Pick: West Brom +0AH
Odds:  2.55 @ Pinnacle
Stake: 4/10
Analysis: West Brom is performing very well since the start of the season, but they still haven't got a win away from home. However, all of their opponents in those game were better teams than Wigan, probably except Aston Villa which are about the same class. Wigan on the other hand have just one win at home and it came against a weak visitors like West Ham. This makes me think the visitors could achieve their first success away from home considering their decent defense and strong attack. I am taking the DNB option though, since the odds are still very good and this offers some insurance.

This is it from me, you could probably expect some more tips tomorrow, good luck everyone :)

Saturday recap, final EPL picks and F1 pick

Hi guys,

I had two bets for Saturday and at the end of the day the result was one won and one lost with a small profit. As I expected Fulham and Everton both scored, but my bet for over 3 goals was in danger after the Toffees somehow managed to miss a dozen of clear cut chances throughout the game, but thankfully Fulham were more clinical. Later on the same day West Ham and Man City didn't manage to score any goals, so the bet there was lost. Today I already have a bet on Newcastle (+1 AH), but here are my two final picks for the Premier League and a bonus pick for F1:

Pick 29
Event: QPR - Reading
Pick: Under 2.5 goals
Stake: 8/10
Odds: 2.16 @ 188bet
Analysis: The game is very important for both teams as they lie in the bottom three of the table without a win. QPR will most likely miss the likes of Mbia, Zamora and skipper Park due to various reasons and this definitely will reflect their attacking performance. On the other hand, Reading are not scoring a lot away from home and QPR have scored just 7 times since the start of the campaign. Naturally, the defense of the teams are my main concern, but I think the odds for under 2.5 are too good to miss.

Zamora will likely miss the game, which is a big blow for QPR.

Pick 30
Event: West Brom - Southampton
Pick: West Brom to win
Odds: 1.75 @ Ladbrokes
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: West Brom started the season with the best defensive home record and managed to keep few clean sheets in the first couple of games. Since then they conceded twice in both of their last two games, but still managed to win one of them. As for the Saints they continue to struggle and seem unable to get results, despite taking part in some of the most entertaining games this season. I think their terrible defense will let them down once again here, since West Brom are expected to have all of their best players available (including skipper Brunt and Shane Long). On the other end of the pitch the solid defense of the home team should be able to do the job too.

Pick 31
Event: F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Pick: Alonso to finish on the podium
Odds: 1.83 @ Will Hill
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: With Vettel starting from last position, Alonso will be fully motivated to take full advantage and retake the momentum in the Championship title and I think a podium here will do the job. The odds for this happening are quite good, so let's go for it.

Vettel will start last and this is a great chance for Alonso.

Good Saturday and picks for Sunday

Hello guys,

The weekend started very well and I managed to land three out of four picks yesterday for a solid profit. As I expected the Arsenal - QPR game was very tight and the visitors tried a very negative tactics. They weren't many chances until late in the game and the home win with 1:0 was great for me both as a punter and an Arsenal supporter :) Elsewhere Reading and Fulham both score, actually three times each and Wigan and West Ham left it late, but still managed to cover the over 2.5 line. For today I have Bale to score (published in the blog on Friday), but I think there is value in two more picks:

Pick 16
Event: Newcastle - West Brom
Pick: Newcastle to win
Odds: 2.00 @ Will Hill
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: Newcastle are improving their shape recently and have 3 wins from 3 games in Europe and also played very well in the derby against Sunderland last week. They will only miss the suspended Tiote, while West Brom are missing skipper Brunt and Reid. West Brom are unconvincing away from home with three draws and a heavy loss against Fulham, so I believe the host will be able to win here.

Tiote is out after a reckless tackle against Sunderland.

Pick 17
Event: Everton - Liverpool
Pick: Both teams to score
Odds: 1.73 @ Bet365
Stake: 10/10
Analysis: I expect a fierce derby of Merseyside and I wouldn't try to predict the outcome. Everton will miss Felainni and Pienaar, but still have a lot of fire power upfront and Liverpool are more stable recently. Skipper Gerrard normally plays his best games against Everton and ManU, and I expect the same today. I believe both teams will search for the victory and will manage to score goals.
